“…In addition to younger age, low weight, 14 and high central venous pressure, 30 indwelling central venous line has also been reported as a risk factor for BCPA thrombosis in some studies, although Trezzi et al conversely found that central venous catheter was not a significant risk factor for thromboembolic complications after BCPA. 31 In our series, since the central venous catheter in the internal jugular vein was removed in all patients before postoperative day 3, we did not analyze the association between central venous line and BCPA thrombosis. We suggest that the main causes of early thrombosis were extended reconstruction (plasty) of the pulmonary arteries in two patients and sepsis in one case.…”
