Probability of failure and factor of safety in the design of interramp angles in a large open iron ore mine

Abstract: This paper shows the importance of performing probabilistic analyses in open pits, especially for mine planning, which can lead to more efficient ore extraction and meeting the acceptability criteria for safety in mine slopes.
