Probing new charged scalars with neutrino trident production

Abstract: We investigate the possibility of using neutrino trident production to probe leptophilic charged scalars at future high intensity neutrino experiments. We show that under specific assumptions, this production process can provide competitive sensitivity for generic charged scalars as compared to common existing bounds. We also investigate how the recently proposed mixed-flavor production-where the two oppositely charged leptons in the final state need not be muon flavored-can give a 20%-50% increase in sensitiv… Show more

“…There are numerous other potentially interesting topics in the neutrino sector that FASERν could be sensitive to including neutrino tridents [151][152][153][154] which are also a portal to new physics [155,156], neutrino Non-Standard Interactions [157][158][159], neutrino decay [160][161][162] and the weak mixing angle.…”

“…Other measurements by CCFR [8] and NuTeV [9] at larger energies soon followed. As the measurement of trident events may provide a sensitive test of the weak sector [10] as well as placing constraints on physics beyond the SM [8,[11][12][13][14][15][16] it is relevant to investigate how to probe the other modes. This was recognized by the authors of Ref.…”
