Abstract:The (2)H(e,e'p)n cross section at a momentum transfer of 3.5 (GeV/c)(2) was measured over a kinematical range that made it possible to study this reaction for a set of fixed missing momenta as a function of the neutron recoil angle θ(nq) and to extract missing momentum distributions for fixed values of θ(nq) up to 0.55 GeV/c. In the region of 35°≤θ(nq)≤45° recent calculations, which predict that final-state interactions are small, agree reasonably well with the experimental data. Therefore, these experimental… Show more
“…A precise measurement of the high momentum component of the deuteron ground state wave function is the key to understanding the short-range part of nuclear structure. Three types of reactions are used to study the high momentum part of the deuteron wave function: elastic scattering, inclusive and exclusive electro-disintegration reactions [3]. High nucleon momenta can be investigated through the exclusive, quasielatic electro-disintegration of the deuteron at high missing momenta.…”

“…This regime is the eikonal regime, as a great deal of recent experimental and theoretical work has establish, cf. [87,[89][90][91][92][93][94][95][96]. The generalized eikonal approximation (GEA) is briefly discussed in Sec.…”

“…This can be accomplished within the generalized eikonal approximation (GEA) [87,[89][90][91][92][93][94][95][96], which is justified when the final momenta of the rescattered hadrons are on the order of a GeV or above.…”

“…This reaction is chosen because a variety of recent experimental and theoretical studies have demonstrated the presence of a rescattering peak due to final state interactions (FSIs), cf. [85][86][87][88][89][90][91][92].…”
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
