Prognostic Value of ANXA8 in Gastric Carcinoma

Abstract: Gastric carcinoma (GC) remains one of the most common and deadly cancers worldwide. In China, the incidence and mortality rates related to GC were quite high. Annexin A8 (ANXA8) is a member of the annexins family of calcium-dependent membrane phospholipid binding proteins. According to recent research, the up-regulation of ANXA8 is closely associated with various types of tumors. However, the specific role of ANXA8 in GC remains unclear. In our study, we explored the prognostic value of ANXA8 in GC. Here, with… Show more

“…As WNT signaling activation had been found to overexpress in breast cancer, particularly in triple-negative breast cancer, the role of RSPO4 involved in GC progression remained unelucidated ( Coussy et al, 2017 ; Park et al, 2018 ). On a similar note, ANXA8 had been revealed to be upregulated in various cancers ( Gou et al, 2019 ; Ma et al, 2020 ; Yuan et al, 2021 ). The feedback loop between RA-RARA and ANXA8 fostered cancer initiation and progression ( Rossetti and Sacchi, 2020 ).…”

“…In all cases, treated mice experienced a prolonged survival without any noticeable toxic effects in healthy tissues (Virani et al, 2018;Kang et al, 2020;McKernan et al, 2021). Furthermore, ANXA5 administration in mice enhanced immunogenicity by binding to PS and inducing systemic cytotoxic T-cell responses, leading to tumor regression and reduced relapse (Li et al, 2020). It has also proved to rescue immune suppression after chemotherapy, thus contributing to generate a robust antitumor immunity (Kang et al, 2020).…”

“…Meanwhile, ANXA8 overexpression in gastric cancer has been correlated with disease stage and differentiation grading, and it emerged as an independent predictor of worse OS and DFS and a potential poor prognosis biomarker for gastric cancer patients ( Ma et al, 2020 ). ANXA8 has also been found upregulated in squamous cell carcinoma of the uterine cervix ( Chao et al, 2006 ).…”
