Abstract:Encountering difficulties that emerge in programming learning are ubiquitous for novices. Those difficulties may reduce novices' motivation for learning, even lead them to drop out. Automatically detecting the difficulties has been proved as an effective way to solve this problem. A potential method for the detection is to identify programmers' behavioural patterns based on the sequences of programming events (e.g., editing, deleting, or debugging) when they experience programming difficulties. However, due to… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
