Properties and application of multi-functional and structurally colored textile prepared by magnetron sputtering

Abstract: Adopting magnetron sputtering continuous automatic production line equipment for industrial production, polyester fabrics as the substrates were coated with nano-Ag/TiO 2 composite films prepared by direct current sputtering method and direct current/radio frequency reactive sputtering method, respectively. The microstructure of Ag/TiO 2 composite films deposited on the surface of the fabrics was dense and uniform. Structural colors were generated on the surface of the fabrics coated with the composite films a… Show more

“…Aluminium is an optical material because of its exceptional electrical conductivity and anti-UV and anti-electromagnetic shielding, among other characteristics. The results of recent investigations [13,14,48,50] on the structural colouration of Ag/TiO 2 composite films are in good agreement with these results.…”

“…Yuan et al produced Ag/TiO 2 composite coatings on PET fabrics using an automated magnetron sputtering equipment [50]. For sample 1, a Ti film (60 nm) was coated on top of an Ag film (100 nm) that was deposited on the fabric using a DC sputtering technique and subsequently oxidised to TiO 2 in air.…”

“…And ALD can achieve the dyeing through the precursor liquid instead of colloidal spheres. In addition to the above methods, other methods such as heating evaporation-induced self-assembly, 96 extrusion method, 97 electrostatic self-assembly, 98,99 screen printing, 53 atomization deposition, 58 and magnetron sputtering deposition, [100][101][102] can also be used to dye fabrics to endow them with structural colors. The various dyeing methods provide great convenience to obtain structural colored fabrics with properties that are demanded.…”

“…[1][2][3][4] The combination of some special finishing agents can make the textile obtain two or more specific functions at the same time, which is valuable for multifield applications. [5][6][7][8] Cotton fabric has good hydrophilicity and air permeability, meanwhile it has the advantage of flexibility and comfort. [9][10][11] However, bacteria breed easily on cotton fiber, the fabric has the shortcomings of poor ultraviolet resistance, poor antibacterial properties, etc.…”
