Properties of State Estimation for Power System with Quadrature Booster in Rectangular Coordinates

Abstract: The paper presents a state estimation of a power system with a phase shifter. A new versatile model of the phase shifter for steady state analyses is introduced. The mentioned model allows for consideration of different types of phase shifters. In the paper, original investigations of properties of the state estimation for a power system with a quadrature booster (to be one of types of phase shifters) are performed. The state estimation is considered in the rectangular coordinate system. During the investigati… Show more

“…However, it is important how big the differences are, so whether it is rational to look for more favorable state-estimation solutions for a system with the phase shifter. The research results, which are presented in [11], indicate that the previously mentioned differences should be considered significant.…”

“…Paper [10] describes the power system state estimation assuming the use of a phase shifter model consisting of an ideal series voltage source and an ideal shunt current source. The use of two real voltage sources, i.e., a serial source and a shunt source in the phase shifter model for the state estimation purposes is described in [11][12][13][14][15]. Papers [11][12][13] deal with the state estimation for a power system with a quadrature booster.…”
