“…The present study showed the most common indication for C/S was fetal distress (42.9%) which is similar to the studies conducted by Molla M et al [33] showed that the most common indication for C/S was fetal distress in pregnant women with oligohydramnios ( 40.3%) and Amin A et al [34] observed that the most common indication for C/S was fetal distress (47.5%). On the other hand, Niamrat T et al [32] reported a low rate of fetal distress for C/S ( 14.7%) which might be due to closed monitoring in antepartum and intrapartum pregnant women who had oligohydramnios.…”

“…Amnioinfusion for oligohydramnios has been used both prophylactically and therapeutically. It has been found to be e ective in reducing fetal heart rate deceleration and caesarean section rate (Abdel-Aleem 2005;Amin 2003;Persson-Kjerstadius 1999). It has been described as a method of preventing or relieving umbilical cord compression during labour (Miyazaki 1983).…”

Studies previously awaiting classification (Abdel-Aleem 2005;Amin 2003;Persson-Kjerstadius 1999;Puertas 2001;Rinehart 2000) were not included as they are more suitable for another review 'Amnioinfusion for potential or suspected umbilical cord compression in labour' (Hofmeyr 1998).…”
