Abstract:We propose a solid-state implementation of the Larmor clock that exploits tunnel magnetoresistance to distill information on how long itinerant spins take to traverse a barrier embedded in it. Keeping in mind that the tunnelling time innately involves pristine pre-selection and post-selection, our proposal takes into account the detrimental aspects of multiple reflections by incorporating multiple contacts, multiple current measurements and suitably defined magnetoresistance signals. Our analysis provides a di… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
