Abstract: Background: Bloodstream infections (BSIs) are a public health concern and cause substantial morbidity and mortality. The pathogen Staphylococcus epidermidis causes a significant number of BSIs. Antibiotics targeting Staphylococcus epidermidis have been the mainstay in BSIs.
