Abstract:Background
Three species and a land race of the Genus Basella Linn. namely; Basella alba, Basella cordifolia, Basella rubra and Basella alba round exist in Nigeria. All the members are consumed as leafy vegetables. The aim of this study is to find out which of the Basella forms is more nutritious and the levels of the ant-nutritional components.
