“…The interviews ranged between 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on how the interviews progressed and were administered over Zoom to avoid in-person contact during the pandemic. Interviews were conducted in Bengali and translated in a spirit of active reflexive deliberation to minimize any impact on the reliability of the research (le Duc & Lindeque, 2018;Piekkari & Welch, 2006). We developed an interview protocol consisting of an interview guide to direct us through the discussions focusing on the following specific aspects: a) origin of the enterprise, b) challenges of running a small enterprise during a pandemic, c) strategies adopted to adapt to changing environment, d) plans for the post-pandemic period.…”

“…Recent studies have focused on the relationship between the various dimensions of proximity and collaboration (Balland, 2012; Hansen, 2015), knowledge sharing (Agrawal et al , 2008; Huber, 2012) and innovation (Mattes, 2012). More recently, Le Duc and Lindeque (2018) examine the impact of the different dimensions of proximity on the location choices of multinational enterprises (MNEs) in Dutch science parks. Thus, building upon these studies and following Boschma (2005), we propose that institutional proximity and/or cognitive proximity between agents may facilitate the exchange of ideas, ultimately leading to productivity gains for those firms.…”
