“…Since the hypothesis of ceRNA was developed in 2011 33 , an increasing number of studies have been published to decode the sophisticated RNA network 28,34 . In 2017, Kong et al found that PDIA3P1 knockdown decreased the migration, invasion, and proliferation of HCC cells by affecting the p53 pathway, but the detailed mechanisms were not studied in detail 24 . In other studies, Sun and colleagues demonstrated that PDIA3P1 is overexpressed in OSCC and promotes tumor cell proliferation by absorbing miR-185-5p 25 .…”

“…In this study, we analyzed the microarray data of U87MG glioblastoma cells cultured under normoxic (21% oxygen) or hypoxic (1% oxygen) conditions from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO), and identified protein disulfide isomerase family A member 3 pseudogene 1 (PDIA3P1), a 2099-bp segment mapping to chromosome 1q21.1, which has been reported highly expressed in HCC and OSCC, upregulated under hypoxic conditions 24,25 . However, the regulation of gene expression and functional mechanisms of PDIA3P1 require further investigation.…”

“…A pseudogene is a non-coding gene that is not producing protein (18). In this study, we identified two fusion genes (CIC-DUX4L8, EIF2AK4-ANXA2P2) (Figure 3) with pseudogene partners (DUX4L8, ANXA2P2).…”

“…LncRNAs can alter gene expression through multiple regulatory approaches, such as chromatin modification, transcriptional regulation, and post‐transcriptional regulation (Jalali et al, 2015; Harrap, 2016; Laham‐Karam et al, 2017; Chen et al, 2018). Aberrant expression of lncRNAs has been proved to be associated with abnormal biological behaviors of malignant tumors, such as cervical cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, glioma, and breast cancer (Gao et al, 2017; Kong et al, 2017; Luan et al, 2017; Aalijahan and Ghorbian, 2019). Besides, lncRNAs can regulate the expression of their nearby genes to regulate cancer progression (Zhu et al, 2016; Su et al, 2017; Wang et al, 2018).…”
