Pulmonary tuberculosis in patients with mental disorders in combination with alcoholism

Abstract

The article presents an assessment of the characteristics of the clinical and psychological state of patients with comorbid pathology (pulmonary tuberculosis and mental disorder) in combination with alcoholism. The purpose of assessing the characteristics of the clinical and psychological state of this category of persons is to create a medical and social portrait of the latter. Results. The study showed that a fairly high percentage of patients with comorbid pathology (pulmonary tuberculosis and mental disorder) are dependent on psychoactive substances. For the studied category of persons, characteristic psychological features and cognitive impairments were revealed. Conclusion. Taking into account the results of the study, it is necessary, in addition to the main anti-tuberculosis treatment, to such patients to carry out therapeutic measures aimed at improving cognitive functions and involve them in rehabilitation psychological and correctional programs. In terms of providing medical care, pay special attention to the organization and implementation of comprehensive treatment for patients with alcohol dependence and comorbid pulmonary tuberculosis, to implement it jointly: by phthisiatricians, psychiatrists, psychologists and narcologists.
