Push-Up Technique and Anatomical Deployment With the Endurant Stent-Graft System for Severely Angulated Aneurysm Necks

Abstract: The push-up technique and anatomical deployment with the Endurant stent-graft system are effective and safe methods for treating aneurysms with severely angulated necks.

“…Adjunctive techniques such as the push-up or reverse slider techniques have been reported in such cases with more favorable results. 18,19 Indeed, our registry showed no significant differences between the two groups in Log-rank analyses were used to compare between the Endurant and the Excluder groups. There was no significant difference in 5 year overall survival between the Endurant and the Excluder groups (69.7±3.7% vs 75.2±3.2%; p=0.926).…”

“…Bare stents are considered solely for ensuring renal blood flow. In addition, the rest of the main body was implanted by using the push-up technique 8 to cover the proximal neck and aneurysm transition region from the inside and bottom of the aneurysm; in this way, the aneurysm transition zone can also be used for optimal proximal sealing (Figure 3). This technique was feasible owing to the excellent conformability of the Endurant aortic stent-graft.…”

“…(E, F) The endograft was fitted to the shape of the aneurysm transition zone with good conformability using the push-up technique. 8 The aneurysm transition zone was also used for proximal sealing. (G) After the endograft was implanted, a bare stent was deployed into the left renal artery to maintain blood flow.…”

“…Furthermore, the third stent has not fully deployed yet. It means that the rest of the stents until the fifth stent can be deployed slowly with the push-up technique 5 (case 2; Fig 4; Video). It helps the deployment of the main body with conformability in high angulation.
