QKSA: Quantum Knowledge Seeking Agent

Abstract: In this research, we extend the universal reinforcement learning agent models of artificial general intelligence to quantum environments. The utility function of a classical exploratory stochastic Knowledge Seeking Agent, KL-KSA, is generalized to distance measures from quantum information theory on density matrices. Quantum process tomography (QPT) algorithms form a tractable subset of programs for modeling environmental dynamics. The optimal QPT policy is selected based on a mutable cost function based on al… Show more

“…Universal reinforcement learning models like AIXI and KSA are capable of rational decision-making or modeling environmental dynamics, based on the shortest program that corresponds to compressing the past observations and maximizing a set reward function. These have been quantized both by using quantum algorithms, (e.g., in the AIXI-q model [69]) and by applying them to quantum environments (e.g., in the QKSA model [70]).…”

“…It can be argued that the key to this leap forward lies in the pursuit of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). If AGI is achieved, we would create an artificial universal constructor [5], [6]. This could be a game-changer across all industrial sectors, accelerating sustainable development and providing transformative solutions to global challenges.…”
