Objective: to identify associations between the Burnout domains and the characteristics of the work environment. Method: cross-sectional study with 745 nurses from 40 public health institutions in São Paulo. Nursing Work Index-Revised (NWI-R) and Maslach Burnout Inventory were used. Similar institutions according to NWI-R were grouped by clustering and the Anova and Bonferroni tests were used in the comparative analyzes. Results: there was signifi cant and moderate correlation between emotional exhaustion and autonomy, control over the environment and organizational support; between reduced personal accomplishment, autonomy and organizational support; and between depersonalization and autonomy. The group that presented the worst conditions in the work environment differed on emotional exhaustion from the group with most favorable traits. Conclusion: emotional exhaustion was the trait of Burnout that was more consistently related to the group of institutions with more unfavorable working conditions regarding autonomy, organizational support and control over the environment. RESUMO Objetivo: identifi car associações entre os domínios do Burnout e as características do ambiente de trabalho. Método: estudo transversal com 745 enfermeiros de 40 instituições públicas de saúde de São Paulo. Nursing Work Index-Revised (NWI-R) e Maslach Burnout Inventory foram utilizados. Instituições semelhantes, segundo NWI-R, foram agrupadas pelo método de Cluster e os testes Anova e Bonferroni foram aplicados nas análises comparativas. Resultados: houve correlação signifi cativa e moderada entre exaustão emocional e autonomia, controle sobre o ambiente e suporte organizacional; baixa realização pessoal e autonomia, e suporte organizacional; despersonalização e autonomia. O grupo que apresentou as piores condições de ambiente de trabalho diferiu do que teve os mais favoráveis atributos quanto à exaustão emocional. Conclusão: a exaustão emocional foi o traço do Burnout que se relacionou de forma mais constante com o grupo de instituições com condições mais desfavoráveis de trabalho quanto à autonomia, suporte organizacional e controle sobre o ambiente. Objective: the objective was to assess the level of physical activity (LPA) and the quality of life QL of the professionals who work in ICU. Method: this was a cross-sectional study carried out in Adult ICUs. LPA was assessed by the International Questionnarie of Physical Activity -short form (IQPA-SF) and the QL by the Medical Outcomes Study 36 (SF-36) questionnaire. Results: it was classifi ed active 50.89% out of a total of 59 professionals. Nursing technicians were considered the most active with 60.6%. The QL of the professionals who were considered active were better when compared to inactives, with statistical differences to the category of physical aspects limitation, social aspects and mental health. The working hours were higher than recommend, the physicians were higher than the physical therapist, nurses and technicians nurses (p=0.046). Conclusion: physically active professionals who work in ICU had higher quality of life probably why have lower hours of work and consequently more free time to engage in physical activity.

Objective:To report the experience of developing a workshop proposal to assist local managers with the identification, management and prevention of primary care workers' psychic and moral exhaustion. Method: The workshop was developed through a literature review performed between November 2014 and June 2015. The temporal cut considered studies of the ten previous years. The selection included studies describing collective interventions for situations generating psychic and moral exhaustion, preferably in primary care services. Results: Thirty-five articles were analyzed. The workshop provides five meetings with an average duration of one hour. The themes are: awareness; recognizing personal stress; dealing with personal stress; recognizing team stress; and dealing with team stress. The workshop is based on five key principles: detection and coping; attention to interpersonal relationships; communication; self-knowledge and mindfulness. Conclusion: Psychic and moral exhaustion may reflect negatively on workers' health, the care, and the organization. The proposal of measures to recognize, deal with and prevent psychic and moral exhaustion is relevant and strategic in the constant search for improvement of satisfaction and quality.
