Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis of Five Bioactive Flavonoids in Salix bordensis Turcz. by HPLC-DAD and HPLC-ESI-MS

Abstract: The qualitative characterization and quantitative analysis of five bioactive flavonoids in Salix bordensis Turcz. were achieved via reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with diode array detection and tandem mass spectrometry, by using an Agilent ZORBAX SB-C 18 HPLC column with a gradient elution of 0.3% (v/v) formic acid in water and methanol as the mobile phase. The compounds in the mixture were clearly identified by comparing their HPLC-DAD ultraviolet spectra, retention times, and M… Show more

“…Kaempferol 32) and its 7,4ˋ-dimethyl derivative 33) were found to be most prominent constituents in S. bordensis Turcz. (Zhao et al, 2014). Also, kaempferol-7-O-glucoside 34) is a major compound in S. babylonica L. leaves and roots (Khatoon et al, 1988;Singh et al, 2017).…”

“…21,25,26 The major obstacle in phytochemical analysis is a choice of proper extraction methods and highly efficient solvents due to the lack of standardisation of methods for extraction of phenolic compounds from plants. [27][28][29][30][31][32][33] Since the applied extraction conditions vary widely in the literature, the experimental plan was used in this work to determine the optimal conditions for effective extraction of flavonoids from the leaf of I. sibirica L.…”

“…This stationary phase is widely used, providing high separation efficiency and excellent mechanical stability. In addition, silica stationary phases modified by several types of bound phases using C4-C30 alkyl groups, such as octadecyl or C18, have been widely used in HPLC [14]. The stationary phase is used to produce more efficient separation results in combination with good selectivity.…”
