A field experiment was conducted during Kharif 2023 at Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, SHUATS, Prayagraj (U.P) on the topic “Effect of Zinc and Panchagavya on Growth and Yield of Pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum L.)”, to study treatments consisting of three levels of Zinc viz. 10, 15 and 20 kg/ha and three levels of Panchagavya viz. 3, 4 and 5%. The soil of experimental plot was sandy loam in texture, nearly neutral in soil reaction (pH 7.6), low in organic carbon (0.25 %), available N (183.8 kg/ha), available P (11.50 kg/ha) and available K (87 kg/ha). There were 10 treatments each being replicated thrice and laid out in Randomized Block Design. The results revealed that treatment 9 (ZnSO4 20 kg/ha + Panchagavya- 5%) recorded significantly higher plant height (158.97 cm), plant dry weight (65.16 g) and length of ear (32.18 cm), No. of grains/ear (1824.66), test weight (8.02 g), grain yield (2.12 t/ha), stover yield (7.33 t/ha), gross return (INR 66509.00), net return (INR 46709.90) and B:C ratio (2.36) compared to other treatments.

A field experiment was conducted at the Department of Horticulture, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru College of Agriculture and Research Institute, Karaikal, U.T. of Puducherry during the summer season of 2023 to investigate the integrated effects of organics and bioenhancers on the growth, bulb yield and quality of aggregatum onion (Allium cepa var. aggregatum) cv ‘Perambalur Local’. The experiment utilized a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two replications, incorporating two factors viz., fertilizers level (F1 with 6 levels) and bioenhancers (F2 with 3 levels), resulting in eighteen treatments in a factorial manner. The study materials included vermicompost, poultry manure, panchagavya and jeevamirtham, in addition to recommended Farm Yard Manure (FYM) and N, P, K fertilizers. Noteworthy observations were made in the treatment receiving Recommended Dose of FYM (RDFYM) + 75% N + Recommended Dose of P (RDP) + Recommended Dose of K (RDK) + 25% N through Poultry manure, coupled with the application of jeevamirtham at 500 L ha-1 as a soil drench thrice, coinciding with irrigation at planting, 20 and 45 days after planting (DAP). This treatment exhibited significant enhancements in various parameters including maximum plant height at 30 DAP (31.40 cm), leaf girth at 30 DAP (1.94 cm), number of leaves plant-1 at 30 DAP (25.80), fresh weight of top (12.26 g), polar (3.17 cm) and equatorial diameter of bulblet (2.94 cm), bulblet weight (9.30 g), number of bulblets plant-1 (10.00), maximum bulb yield (43.18 g plant-1 and 6.91 t ha-1) and dry matter production of bulbs (788.51 kg ha-1). These findings underscore the efficacy of integrating organic inputs and bioenhancers in optimizing the growth, yield and quality of aggregatum onion.

The presence of growth-regulating hormones and enzymes in Jiwamrit possibly facilitated the uptake of nutrients and moisture by plants leading to meristematic cell division and elongation, which was finally reflected to plant height [16]. Corm treatment with Beejamrit + soil application of Jiwamrit (T 9 ) outperformed others as both the formulations were possibly rich in macro-and micro-nutrients, vitamins, amino acids, growth regulators and served as storage media for the beneficial microorganisms [17,18].…”

A field experiment was carried out at the farm of Divyayan Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Morabadi, Ranchi during kharif season of 2022 with 10 treatments (T1: control or no treatment, T2: Corm treatment with Beej Sanjeevani, T3: Corm treatment with Beejamrit, T4: Soil application of Jiwamrit, T5: Soil application of Panchagavya, T6: Soil application of Jiwamrit + Panchagavya, T7: Corm treatment with Beej Sanjeevani + soil application of Jiwamrit, T8: Corm treatment with Beej Sanjeevani + soil application of Panchagavya, T9: Corm treatment with Beejamrit + soil application of Jiwamrit, T10: Corm treatment with Beejamrit + soil application of Panchagavya) placed in three times replicated randomized block design to study the growth, yield and production economics of elephant foot yam under uses of organic corm and soil treatments. Results revealed that corm treatment with Beejamrit + soil application of Jiwamrit resulted in higher growth attributes, corm length (23.3 cm), dimeter (26.9 cm) and yield (32.8 t/ha). This corm + soil treatment also recorded the highest gross return (INR.2,62,400/ha), net return (INR.1,69,189/ha) and B:C (2.82). It also increased soil microbial population dynamics especially total bacteria (69.7 CFU × 106/g of soil).
