Quality and reliability studies in software defect management: a literature review

Abstract: PurposeThis paper is focused at studying the current state of research involving the four dimensions of defect management strategy, i.e. software defect analysis, software quality, software reliability and software development cost/effort.Design/methodology/approachThe methodology developed by Kitchenham (2007) is followed in planning, conducting and reporting of the systematic review. Out of 625 research papers, nearly 100 primary studies related to our research domain are considered. The study attempted to f… Show more

“…Consequently, FDR experienced a rapid decline at the beginning, gradually tapering off over time and forming a concave trend [7]. In contrast, the S-shaped model suggests that FDR undergoes a gradual rise in the initial stages of testing [8], [9]. This initial phase often reflects the learning process of the testing team and the complexity of uncovering less obvious faults.…”

“…Renewable energies combine different technological sectors, according to the energy source used and the useful energy obtained. Among these, there is photovoltaic solar energy – PV – which has attracted the attention of the scientific community for several years in terms of studying their efficiency and performance (Pai et al , 2021; Cao et al , 2019; Lupangu and Bansal, 2017; Sharma and Chandel, 2013).…”
