Abstract:Tungsten-based materials are possible candidates as PFCs in future fusion devices. LIBS is one of the most suitable techniques for monitoring erosion and deposition processes including fuel retention, due to its versatility and ability to perform in situ measurements. By deploying ps-LIBS, instead of ns, the laser ablation occurs with fewer melting effects. This work compares ns- and ps- (CF)-LIBS characterization of WZr(D) samples, at the linear plasma generator at Magnum-PSI at the DIFFER. The laser energy h… Show more
“…WTa + D coatings to be used as plasma-facing components (PFCs) were investigated by Dwivedi et al 94 Roldán et al 95 similarly compared ps and ns LIBS for the characterization of tungsten-based materials (Wzr(D)), while Atikukke et al 96 investigated the erosion and fuel retention in PFCs, by detecting Pb in traces and bulk quantities in Sn-based alloys.…”

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
