Quantitative and Qualitative Genetic Studies of Some Acacia Species Grown in Egypt

Abstract: The objective of the current work is to study the genetic differentiation between Acacia species growing in Egypt as plant genetic resources based on morphological, biochemical, and molecular markers. The 20 replicates of Acacia tree collected from four localities from Egypt were A. tortilis ssp. raddiana and A. farnesiana (Siwa Oasis and Borg El-Arab City), A. stenophylla, A. sclerosperma (Marsa Matroh City), and A. saligna (Abis Station Farm, Alexandria). The results based on the previous markers indicated h… Show more

“…H. L.Wendl. is considered a fast-growing tree [ 27 ], and its extracts from different parts have shown some biologically active compounds as well antioxidant [ 3 , 28 , 29 ]. Melia azedarach wood treated with A. saligna flower extract showed good inhibition to Penicillium chrysogenum and moderate activity against Fusarium culmorum and Rhizoctonia solani but weak activity was reported [ 3 ].…”

“…2 contained four plant samples (T4, C3, C2, and C1), this cluster contain all three-control plant sample in a small branch together and treatment sample number four on the other side which close to the other two treatments. Abdelsalam et al (2020) studied the activities of antioxidant enzymes intensively and the results provide strong similarities between the Acacia species were examined, and the obtained data were subjected to cluster analysis.…”
