Abstract:In the consumer care, cosmetics and chemical industries, there is a growing need for alternatives to animal testing to derive biokinetic data to evaluate both efficacy and safety of chemicals. One promising alternative is bottom‐up physiologically‐based biokinetic (PBK) modeling, which utilizes in vitro‐to‐in vivo extrapolation (IVIVE) for prediction of biokinetic parameters. The main challenges of IVIVE lie in suboptimal biokinetic predictions, particularly when using in vitro transporter data which often req… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
