Abstract: We propose a quantum-like description of markets and economics. The approach has roots in the recently developed quantum game theory.

“…Also distributed computing, cryptography, watermarking and information hiding tasks can be modeled as games [26][27][28][29][30][31][32]. Piotrowski and Sladkowski have modeled markets, auctions and bargaining assuming traders can use quantum protocols [33,34]. In the new quantum market games, transactions are described in terms of projective operations acting on Hilbert spaces of strategies of traders.…”

“…Furthermore, quantum mechanics has features that can be used to model aspects of market behavior. For example, traders observe the actions of other players and adjust their actions [34] and the maximal capital flow at a given price corresponds to entanglement between buyers and sellers [33]. Nature may be playing quantum survival games at the molecular level [36,37].…”

“…After proposing a quantum-like description of markets and economics, Piotrowski further presents a simple but nontrivial class of the quantum strategies in buying-selling games [42,43] . The Giffen paradoxes in quantum game model formalism is discussed by Sladkowski [44] .…”

“…Plenty of quantum variants of problems analysed by the traditional classical game theory (see [15,16,17]) have already been put forward. First attempts at creating quantum economy by applying quantum game theory to selected economic problems have been made too [18]. It is assumed that there exists a market where financial transactions are made with help of quantum computers operating on quantum strategies [18,19,20].…”

“…First attempts at creating quantum economy by applying quantum game theory to selected economic problems have been made too [18]. It is assumed that there exists a market where financial transactions are made with help of quantum computers operating on quantum strategies [18,19,20]. It is essential to mention here that game theory in its traditional form has been formulated in the context of economic issues.…”
