Quasi-Two Dimensional Metallic Hydride State and the Soliton-Catalytic Effect in Alkali Metal Hydrogen-Graphite Intercalation Compounds

Abstract: We have discussed the mechanism of anomalous magnetic effect due to hydrogen uptake in C8RbHx with the theoretical formula, which is extended from "topological quasi-hydrogen" model. It is suggested that the hydrogenstate in C8RbHx might have the Kondo-like property.

“…The studies of means of ESR and electrical conductivity [8] have shown that in C 8 K, C 24 K, and C 24 Rb, the hydride ions are stabilized after the dissociation of the hydrogen molecules into atoms and the subsequent charge transfer, and in C 8 Rb hydrogens are absorbed in the atomic form. Recently the present authors have discussed the mechanism of anomalous magnetic effect due to hydrogen uptake in C 8 RbH x with the theoretical formula, which is extended from "topological quasi-hydrogen" model [24]. It is suggested strongly that the hydrogen state in C 8 RbH x might have the Kondo-like property [24].…”

“…Really the quasi(2 + 1) system is derived from the instanton-like fluctuation of these solitons [33]. Figure 3(a) shows the positron annihilation spectrum for pair-momentum p perpendicular to the crystallographic c-axis (P ⊥ c) in C 24 K [21].…”

“…Recently, Kanazawa and coworkers [14][15][16][17] have introduced 'topological quasi-positronium' and 'topological quasi-hydrogen' models through analysing experimental data of the graphite, alkali metal graphite intercalation compounds, and hydrogen-absorbed alkali metal graphite intercalation compounds with the positron methods. [13,[18][19][20][21][22][23] Then by using 'topological quasi-hydrogen' model, it is suggested that the hydrogen state in C 8 RbH x might have the Kondo-like property, [24] and the effect of positron energy loss in alkali metal graphite intercalation compounds is discussed. [25] In this study, we will propose the new description of chemisorbed hydrogen on Ni(111) surface by using the 'topological quasi-hydrogen' model.…”
