Abstract:The catalytic asymmetric synthesis of chiral phthalides has garnered considerable interest. However, the construction of phthalides with a chiral quaternary carbon stereocenter still remains challenging. In this study, we developed a new strategy toward catalytic asymmetric synthesis of chiral 3,3disubstituted phthalides via a dirhodium(II)/phosphine-catalyzed carbonyl addition cascade, yielding phthalides with up to 97% ee values. The reaction proceeded through dirhodium(II)/phosphine-catalyzed asymmetric car… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
