Radiance FN: A New Soft Tissue Filler

Abstract: Radiance FN offers a new alternative as a deep soft tissue filler. Aesthetic correction was immediate with little downtime. Patient satisfaction was high with minimal side effects. Lip nodularity was the main complication. Correction in all patients has persisted to date, with our longest follow-up being 6 months.

“…2, above). A relatively high incidence of nodule formation [103][104][105] has led to caution in its use in lip augmentation; however, true granuloma formation in the above sense has been reported only twice to the main clinical investigator (M. H. Graivier) in approximately 35,000 patients treated between 2002 and 2004 in the United States. Two male patients with acne received Radiesse in many depressed scars in both cheeks and developed foreign body granulomas mainly in three areas of 3 ϫ 2 ϫ 0.5 cm, dimensions that were far beyond those of the injected sites.…”

“…Also, in contrast to silicone, calcium hydroxylapatite has a 1:1 rate of injection to augmentation, requiring no posttreatment monitoring for additional augmentation. 8 In this pilot study, we demonstrated that calcium hydroxylapatite may be used safely in the nose for postrhinoplasty contour defects. Postsurgical injection of calcium hydroxylapatite has the potential to add a degree of finesse to a postrhinoplasty result: symmetry may be improved, a natural curve or line may be smoothed, or a subtle depression can be filled.…”

“…7 It is biocompatible, yet shown to be long lasting without being permanent. 7,8 The use of calcium hydroxylapatite for postrhinoplasty nasal contour defects has not been previously described in the published literature. We believe that injectable calcium hydroxylapatite may fit the criteria for a nearly ideal filler of the nose.…”
