The ideas of extremism spread among convicts held in correctional institutions pose a threat to the national security of Central Asian countries. The relevance of the study is due to the presence of a number of problems in the framework of countering the manifestations of extremism in prison institutions and the radicalization of prisoners. The article focuses on the need for comprehensive measures to counter the radicalization of places of deprivation of liberty in the countries of Central Asia (Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan). The authors emphasize that the penitentiary environment acts not only as one of the most vulnerable objects, but also as one of the main sources of dissemination of radical ideologies. The authors analyzed the factors of the spread of radical ideologies in the countries of Central Asia, characterized individual causes that contribute to the radicalization of prisons in the region. A description is given of measures to counteract the spread of radical ideas among the convicts of these countries. Such measures include: awareness-raising with prisoners; involvement of prison chaplains; introduction of a system of social elevators for prisoners; provision of psychological and material support; reorganization of law enforcement agencies; improvement of the legal framework for countering extremism; collective measures to counteract the radicalization of prisoners. Knowledge of the typical causes and conditions for the spread of radical ideology in penitentiary institutions is important first of all for the development of necessary preventive measures, and can help prevent the commission of criminal forms of extremism.

Resumo Este artigo discute as bases do acionalismo de Alain Touraine. Revisita o percurso teórico empreendido pelo autor, desde suas primeiras investigações sobre a consciência operária até um período mais recente, em que Touraine parece optar pelo abandono da sociologia em prol de uma ciência moral reinventada. Termina com uma interrogação sobre a pertinência e os limites de uma remobilização do aparelho sociológico tourainiano para analisar a segunda onda do movimento global. A partir da ideia de um conflito democrático que caracterizaria esse movimento, indica os aportes e os limites da sociologia tourainiana para responder a esse desafio.

The recent terrorist attacks and ongoing state of emergency in France have brought questions of police surveillance into the public spotlight, making it increasingly important to understand how police attain data from citizens. Since 2005, the French police have been using IBM's computer program, i2 Analyst's Notebook, to aggregate information and craft criminal narratives. This technology serves to quickly connect suspects with crimes, looking for as many associations as possible, ranking and visualizing them based on level of importance. Recently, surveillance and state power have been theorized as having shifted to a posthegemonic, order. Drawing from literature on power, surveillance, and identity, this paper considers the various ways that algorithms can impact policing under a state of emergency by comparing the technical protocol of i2 Analyst's Notebook with the administrative protocol of the French state. Using i2 Analyst's Notebook as an example, this paper argues that posthegemonic theories of power have their place in determining how algorithms can be used for surveillance, but that they cannot completely explain their use under the state of emergency.
