Radioiodinated esomeprazole as a model for peptic ulcer localization

Abstract: This work focuses on tracking stomach ulcer localized in mice. High labeling yield and radiochemical purity were achieved for the formation of a [125I]esomeprazole radiotracer at optimum conditions of oxidizing agent content (chloramines-T (Ch-T), 100 μg), substrate amount (Esom, 100 μg), pH of reaction mixture (6), reaction time (30 min) and temperature (37 °C), using radioactive iodine-125 (200–450 MBq). The radiolabeled compound, [125I]esom, was stable in serum and saline solution during 24 h. Esom is actin… Show more

“…scarification of animals was conducted after certain times (5 min, 15 min, 30 min, 60 min and 2 h) after injection. Organs were collected in addition to (Fresh blood, bone, and muscle tissues) then measured against prepared standard solution of the labeled substrate [ [56] , [57] , [58] , [59] , [60] , [61] , [62] , [63] , [64] , [65] , [66] , [67] , [68] , [69] , [70] , [71] , [72] , [73] , [74] , [75] , [76] , [77] , [78] , [79] , [80] , [81] , [82] , [83] , [84] , [85] , [86] , [87] , [88] , [89] , [90] , [91] , [92] , [93] , [94] , [95] , [96] , [97] , [98] , [99] , [100] ]. The mean percentage of the injected dose was calculated.…”

“…A standard deviation (SD) for the mean value of the percentage of the supplied dose per gram was determined. It was calculated that muscle made up 40% of a person's body weight, whereas bone made up 10%, and blood made up 7% [71][72][73][74][75][76][77][78][79][80]. Experiments were conducted while corrections were used for background radiation and emission decays.…”

“…Due to the low energy of iodine-125 (35 keV), therefore, iodine-131 was utilized to achieve and evaluate the biodistribution in mice in which iodine-131 was used with high energy of 364 keV as gamma ray. [31][32][33][34][35][36] The goal of this study is to prepare [ 125 I]balsalazide radiotracer (Figure 1) to overcome the critical point mentioned above. It can, however, be used only in animal experiments because iodine-125 cannot be applied for imaging human UC.…”
