Abstract:The standard diffusive spreading, characterized by a Gaussian distribution with mean square displacement that grows linearly with time, can break down, for instance, under the presence of correlations and heterogeneity. In this work, we consider the spread of a population of fractional (long-time correlated) Brownian walkers, with time-dependent and heterogeneous diffusivity. We aim to obtain, from a superstatistical approach, the possible scenarios related to these individual-level features from the observatio… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
