Rapid and Sensitive Determination of 4-Nitrophenol, 3-Methyl-4-nitrophenol, 4,6-Dinitro-o-cresol, Parathion-methyl, Fenitrothion, and Parathion-ethyl by Liquid Chromatography with Electrochemical Detection

Abstract: Liquid chromatography with electrochemical detection has been used to determine various nitropesticides, DNOC, fenitrothion, and parathion (methyl and ethyl), and some of their main metabolites, 4-nitrophenol for parathion (methyl and ethyl) and 3-methyl-4-nitrophenol for fenitrothion, by using indirect detection. Analysis of them in river water samples has been performed without a preconcentration step. The recovery efficiencies of the tested compounds yielded values between 96 and 112% at the fortification l… Show more

“…The bands appeared at 1073-1114 cm -1 and 527-585 cm -1 corresponds to different modes of the PO 4 3-group in carbonated hydroxyapatite. The observed bands at 602 cm -1 corresponds to O-P-O bending and ν 1 symmetric P-O stretching modes.…”

“…Based on the above description, it is important to develop simple and reliable method for determination of trace amounts of 4-NP in environments 1,2 . Up to now, various techniques have been investigated to determine 4-NP, such as spectrophotometry, fluorescence, high-performance liquid chromatography 3 , liquid chromatography with electrochemical detection, capillary zone electrophoresis 4 , fiber optode 5 and electrochemical method 6 . Among them, electrochemical methods have received considerable attention because of the advantage of fast response, cheap instrument, low cost, simple operation, timesaving, high sensitivity and selectivity, real-time detection in in-situ condition.…”

“…Electrochemical detection of p-NP is important and attractive because electrochemical devices are always compact and electrochemical analysis usually provides high sensitivity. p-NP has been widely detected by using a variety of electrodes, including graphite [4][5][6] and glassy carbon (GC) electrodes, 7 inorganic-organic hybrid-modified Pt electrode, 8 boron doped diamond (BDD) electrode, 9 single-wall carbon nanotube (SWCNT)-coated GC electrode, 10 zeolite-modified carbon paste electrode, 11 silveramalgam electrode, 12 bismuth-modified GC electrode, 13 and poly(Ni-(protoporphyrin IX))-modified GC electrode. 14 Some of these electrodes were employed as detectors for HPLC that isolated p-NP from its isomers.…”
