“…Exposure to tobacco smoke has earlier been related to PR exposure, 70 and the dietary intake of fruits and vegetables has been associated with urinary concentrations of chlorpyrifos metabolites, 71 pyrethroid metabolites and organophosphate metabolites such as dialkyl and diethyl phosphates (DAP, DEP). 29,33−35 The relative higher consumption of fruit and vegetables by persons opting for organic and/or vegetarian food choices may thus increase PR exposure, but the health benefits of including fruit and vegetables in the diet outweigh the potential negative effects.…”

“…Exposure to tobacco smoke has earlier been related to PR exposure, and the dietary intake of fruits and vegetables has been associated with urinary concentrations of chlorpyrifos metabolites, pyrethroid metabolites and organophosphate metabolites such as dialkyl and diethyl phosphates (DAP, DEP). , The relative higher consumption of fruit and vegetables by persons opting for organic and/or vegetarian food choices may thus increase PR exposure, but the health benefits of including fruit and vegetables in the diet outweigh the potential negative effects . Population-wide assessment studies in Belgium and France have shown that the total dietary exposure to most PRs is between 4 and 100 times lower than the acceptable daily intake (ADI). , Also, diets that include organic and/or vegetarian food choices are often strongly correlated with other indicators of healthy lifestyle …”

“…Because of the intense use of agrotoxics in this crop, this soil presents low levels of organic matter and has significant levels of pesticides and herbicides. Consequently, it cannot be used in food production. , Thus, one solution to these issues is the cultivation of tobacco for energetic uses.…”

“…Employment of a switching valve between the pre-column and separation column during solvent evaporation allowed the LC solvent to be completely removed, preventing it from reaching the GC column and detector, besides reducing loss of volatile components, permitting large volume of LC eluent and preventing decomposition of labile compounds, which was not achieved with other interfaces previously developed. Afterwards, Khan et al (2015) employed low-pressure gas chromatography technique tandem triple quadrupole mass spectrometry (LPGC-MS/MS) for the determination of 259 multipesticide residues in tobacco. The optimized LPGC-MS/MS methodology was three-times faster than the usual GC-MS/MS and provided low LOQs (<2 µg/L) for all compounds, which could be achieved due to an average 2-3-times enhancement in signal/noise.…”
