Rapid maxillary expansion-A review

Abstract: Maxillary expansion treatments have been used for more than a century to correct maxillary transverse deficiency. Three expansion treatment modalities are used today: rapid maxillary expansion (RME), slow maxillary expansion (SME) and surgically assisted maxillary expansion.
