Shynu et al (2011) studied REE in the SPM of the Mandovi estuary and found that the mean total-REE and light REE to heavy REE ratios were lower than that of the average suspended sediment in the World Rivers and Post-Archean average Australian shale. Strong to moderate correlation of the total REE with Al, Fe and Mn in all seasons indicated adsorption and co-precipitation of REEs with aluminosilicate phases and Fe, Mn-oxyhydroxides.…”
