Abstract: Both beta-adrenoceptors and the nitric oxide system play a significant role in the modulation of skeletal muscle contractility. Skeletal muscle adrenoceptors mainly belong to beta2 subtype, while all three types of nitric oxide synthase may influence muscle contractility.
