Ray-tracing models and techniques for coverage prediction in urban environments

Abstract

Ray-tracing algorithms, based on G O (Geometrical Optics) a n d GTD/UTD (Geometrical Theory of DiffractionNniform T h e o r y of Diffraction) have been developed to predict characteristics of wireless propagation channel for u r b a n microcellular environments. Severalproblems on how to implement these algorithms for coverage prediction a r e presented a n d some corresponding measures a n d proposals are also p u t forward in this paper.
