Real time poaching detection: A design approach

Abstract: TThis paper deals with designing of a system, to detect poaching activity in a forest. It is equipped with acoustic sensors that detects sound intensity above a defined threshold level and then transmits the sensor output to a computer system using a wireless module. Computer module employs digital signal processing techniques to determine whether it is a gunshot or other sound.
