Abstract:A significant family of ferrovalley systems, 2D Group IV monochalcogenides (MX; M = Ge, Sn, Pb; X = S, Se, Te), have two inequivalent valleys, V x and V y , whose valley polarization results from the reduction of lattice symmetry caused by ferroelectric polarization. Another class is the ferromagnetic honeycomb materials, which have two inequivalent valleys of K + and K − points and concurrently break the time and space symmetry. When the characteristics of the two ferrovalley material classes are combined, fo… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
