Recent Advances and Future Trends in Pavement Engineering

Abstract

is a civil engineer, and a researcher in EMIB research group at the Faculty of Applied Engineering at the University of Antwerp (Belgium). Patricia's main research areas are the design and installation of fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors to monitor pavement behavior in real-time (prototypes CyPaTs-UAntwerp and BVDZ-Port of Antwerp), heavy-duty pavement design; concrete technology; asphalt and bitumen; and the recycling of industrial wastes and by-products. Patricia is an active member of RILEM (International Union of Laboratories and Experts in Construction Materials, Systems and Structures) and a member of several RILEM Technical Committees. Patricia has authored and coauthored more than 50 publications in international scientific journals and conference proceedings. vii infrastructures
