Recent Advances in ZnO Based Electrochemical Ethylene Gas Sensors for Evaluation of Fruit Maturity

Abstract: India is the largest producer of fruits and vegetables in the world. However, a major portion of agro-products is wasted during harvesting, shipping, and storage, i.e., negligence in the food supply chain management (FSCM) system. Globally, one third of food produced is wasted. Importantly, two-third of the wastage of food occurs due to limitations in the supply chain management system. Wastage of perishable agro-products due to negligence in FSCM is a critical issue, especially in the case of agro-products li… Show more

“…Electrochemical gas sensors are relatively more specific than other methods to detect individual gases and have ppm-or ppb-level sensitivity. However, similarly to semiconductor-based sensors, they suffer from cross-response issues and have a limited lifetime [137][138][139]. In addition, they are susceptible to temperature fluctuations; thus, the temperature should be kept constant and ideally known [140].…”

“…High-performance liquid chromatography sensors [ 5 , [6] , [7] , [8] ], spectrometric sensors [ 9 , [10] , [11] , [12] ], optoelectronic sensors [ 13 , [14] , [15] , [16] ], chemical analysis sensors [ 17 , 18 , 19 ], electrochemical sensors [ 20 , 21 , 22 ], and electromagnetic sensors [ 23 ] are just a few examples of the numerous different types of glucose sensors that have been reported. Electrochemical biosensors are the most commonly used type out of all the ones.…”
