The contribution of micro and small enterprises is limited as the majority are financially constrained and half of them exit from business in 2014/15, Amhara Region. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the profitability of agricultural micro and small-scale enterprises in North Wollo Zone, Amhara Regional State, Ethiopia. Primary data was collected from 271 sample enterprises. The study employed descriptive and econometrics models for the data analysis. The financial ratio result shows that the return on asset, return on owner equity and net profit margin were 0.1601, 0.2768, and 0.1520 birr, respectively. The result of the probit model estimation shows that six variables, namely enterprise age, manager education level, credit use, input availability, owners’ aspiration, and frequency of extension contact significantly and positively influenced the probability of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) being profitable. The second hurdle model, the truncation model showed that enterprise age, manager education level, record keeping, access to input, and frequency of extension contact significantly affected the extent of agricultural MSEs’ profitability. Therefore, enhancing the knowledge, skill, and aspirations of enterprise owners, improving financial access and outreach, providing financial bookkeeping training and practice, creating reliable integration with input producers, and frequent extension support to enhance the profitability and sustainability of enterprises.

Until the current time, entrepreneurship keeps becoming the cornerstone for the government in improving Indonesia economic growth. However, entrepreneur women face more specific obstacles which complicate their steps, then it causes the fact that there are more entrepreneur women have contributions in Indonesian economic growth (60%) is less exposed (Tjahjadi et al., 2019). The study is aimed to identify the relationship between adversity quotients with entrepreneurial intentions of entrepreneur women. The hypothesis proposed in this study is that there is a positive relationship between adversity quotients with entrepreneurial intentions of entrepreneur women. The research subjects were 100 batik entrepreneur women. The scale used in this study was made based on the aspects of the Theory Planned Behavior (TPB) by Ajzen for the entrepreneurial intention variable and aspects of the Adversity Response Profile (ARP) by Stotlz for the adversity quotient variable. The hypothesis test result using Pearson's product-moment showed a correlation number r of .497 and p = .000 (p < .01). It indicates that there is a significant relationship between Adversity Quotient and Entrepreneurial Intensity so that the proposed hypothesis is accepted. The implication of the research is for encouraging the entrepreneur women to create solution to overcome adversities in developing the business.

There are various problems faced by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), especially those related to business competition, technological developments, and transformation into the digital era. These various problems require the strategic role of the government and other stakeholders to be present to provide solutions. The ability of SME entrepreneurs can be developed through various forms of intervention, both in the form of mentoring and training. This study is intended to describe the concept of stakeholder involvement, assistance in the form of business coaching, and training programs using the ADDIE system model. There needs to be empirical research on government institutions that function to foster and develop SMEs in various forms, for example through business incubators or other formats
