Recherches sur l'obtention, la séparation et la purification du tantale et du niobium, notamment par voie électrolytique. I. Dosage du Ta et du Nb au moyen de radio‐isotopes de ces éléments
Abstract:Two radiochemical methods for the quantitative determination of tantalum and niobium, with the aid of 182Ta and 95Nb, are described. If only one of these radio‐isotopes is present, it can be determined by counting the gamma radiation emitted in a well‐cristal scintillator. The simultaneous determination of both Ta and Nb is possible by the interpretation of the entire spectrum obtained in the presence of both radioisotopes.
The electrolytic separation of Ta and Nb from cryolitic solutions of their respective pentoxides gives, under specified conditions, a yield of 90% of the initial Nb with a purity better than 98%.
