Abstract:The relation between the intensity of chromospheric emissions and the photospheric magnetic field strength has been examined in several studies, but the effect of the magnetic field inclination on chromospheric emissions remains almost unexplored. We study how the inclination of the photospheric magnetic field, as measured by the full 3D magnetic vector from the Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager (HMI), affects the relationship between the magnetic field strength and the far-ultraviolet emission at around 1600 Å… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
