Record values from NH distribution and associated inference

Abstract: A new extension of exponential distribution, called NH distribution, was recently introduced by Nadarajah and Haghighi (Statistics 45:543-558, 2011). In this paper, we consider the upper record values from this distribution. We obtain exact explicit expressions as well as several recurrence relations for the single and product moments of record values and then we use these results to compute the means, variances and the covariances of the upper record values. We make use of these calculated moments to find the… Show more

“…Kumar et al [36] established recurrence relations for the single and product moments of order statistics from the NH distribution. MirMostafaee et al [37] obtained some recurrence relations for the single and product moments of upper records from the NH model. Selim [38] dealt estimation of NH model parameters through the maximum likelihood and Bayes method based on record values and also considered point and interval predictions of the future record values.…”

“…Record data arise in a wide variety of practical situations; see for example Arnold et al (1998). Record values and the related subjects have been studied by many authors; see for example Ahmadi and MirMostafaee (2009), MirMostafaee et al (2016) and Fallah et al (2018). Record values, along with inter-record times, have become a favourite subject for many researchers in recent decades.…”

“…21 derived several recurrence relations for the single and product moments of record values from NHD. 22,23 studied the constant-stress and simple step-stress accelerated life-tests for the NHD in presence data obtained from PCS-TII. 24 investigated classical and Bayes estimates of the NHD parameters based on progressive-stress accelerated life-test.…”
