-An applicable approach for a multi-step regenerative irreversible Brayton cycle on the basis of thermodynamics and optimization of thermal efficiency and normalized outpuzt power is presented in this work. In the present study, thermodynamic analysis and a NSGA II algorithm are coupled to determine the optimum values of thermal efficiency and normalized power output for a Brayton cycle system. Moreover, three well-known decision-making methods are employed to indicate definite answers from the outputs gained from the aforementioned approach. Finally, with the aim of error analysis, the values of the average and maximum error of the results are also calculated.Re´sume´-Optimisation des performances d'un cycle de Brayton irre´versible solarise´a`compressions et de´tentes multiples sur la base d'un algorithme ge´ne´tique multi-objectif -Une approche applicable a`un cycle de Brayton irre´versible re´ge´ne´ratif a`compressions et de´tentes multiples, sur la base de la thermodynamique, de l'optimisation du rendement thermique et de la puissance de sortie normalise´e, est pre´sente´e dans cet article. Dans la pre´sente e´tude, l'analyse thermodynamique et un algorithme NSGA II sont couple´s, afin de de´terminer les valeurs optimales de rendement thermique et de puissance de sortie normalise´e pour un syste`me ac ycle de Brayton. En outre, trois me´thodes de prise de de´cision bien connues sont utilise´es pour indiquer des re´ponses de´finies a`partir des re´sultats obtenus a`partir de l'approche mentionne´e ci-dessus. Enfin, afin d'analyser les e´ventuelles erreurs, les valeurs de la moyenne et de l'erreur maximale des re´sultats sont e´galement calcule´es.

The spectrum splitting system (SSS) is an efficient approach to relieve the energy losses in the solar cell and boost the efficiency of solar energy utilization. A model of the concentrated solar spectrum splitting photovoltaic (PV) cell-gas turbine (GT) hybrid system is established to evaluate the performance of the system and predict the maximum efficiency. The numerical calculations show that the area ratio of the solar collector to the PV cell significantly affects the maximum efficiency of the spectrum system, but most of the previous studies are not considered. The maximum efficiency of the system is 50.6% when the parameters including the cell voltage, collector temperature, and band gap energy of the PV cell are optimized at the same areas of the collector and PV cell. The proposed SSS can achieve the maximum efficiency of 52.3% when the area ratio of the collector to the PV cell is further optimized. The results obtained are compared with those of a single concentrating PV cell or solar-powered GT, and consequently, the advantages of a concentrating spectrum splitting PV cell-GT hybrid system are revealed. The thermal energy of the sun can be used for electricity generation. Solar thermal energy can be applied with fossil fuels or independently in order to reduce the cost of generated electricity and CO2 emission. Several cycles are introduced to extract solar thermal energy to be used in power plants. Brayton cycles, Rankine‐Brayton cycles, and supercritical Brayton cycles are among the most conventional ones. Based on the reviewed researches, using solar energy in addition to fossil fuels results in lower carbon dioxide emission and lower levelized cost of the generated electricity. Moreover, thermodynamic and economic analyses of the cycles revealed that heat recovery leads to higher efficiency while increase capital cost. The efficiency of solar‐assisted gas turbines depend on various parameters including pressure ratio, turbine inlet temperature, heat absorber geometry and the performance of the components. The enhancement in the efficiency of the cycles by applying each method depends on the configuration, operating condition. For instance, results have shown that 10% increase in turbine efficiency can led to 6%‐12% improvement in the efficiency of a closed‐Brayton cycle.
