Abstract:Relative energy deficiency in sport (RED-S) is a complex syndrome of endocrine, metabolic, and physiological maladaptation. Adverse effects on physiological and psychological health and the performance of the athlete may occur due to a prolonged exposure to low-energy availability (LEA).
