Abstract: The glycosphingolipidosis, Gaucher disease, in which a range of neurological manifestations occur, results from a deficiency of acid -glucocerebrosidase, with subsequent accumulation of -glucocerebroside, its upstream substrates, and the non-acylated congener -glucosylsphingosine.
