Reduced energy loss enabled by thiophene-based interlayers for high performance and stable perovskite solar cells

Abstract: High performance and stable perovskite solar cells have been fabricated by utilizing thiophene-based interlayers to reduce the energy loss at the SnO2/MAPbI3 interface.

“…1b, the Ti 2p 3/2 and Ti 2p 1/2 states in TiO 2 exhibit the sharp characteristic peaks at 458.73 and 464.31 eV, respectively, which shi slightly in the direction of lower binding energies (458.44 and 464.15 eV) for the DAP modied TiO 2 sample, illustrating that more negative charges surround Ti atoms through bonding with the hydrogen phosphate anion in DAP. 35 Furthermore, as shown in the FTIR spectra in Fig. S2, † the presence of the P-O bond at a lower wavenumber for the TiO 2 /DAP sample in comparison with that for DAP also demonstrates an interaction between the hydrogen phosphate anion in DAP and TiO 2 , crossvalidating the analysis shown in Fig.…”

“…27,[36][37][38][39][40][41][42][43] For the DAP modied TiO 2 sample, O 1s shis to a lower binding energy compared to that for the control one, which further evidences the interaction between DAP and TiO 2 . 35 Besides, the component concentration of O L and O D can be reected by the area ratio of the corresponding peaks, and aer modifying the TiO 2 lm with DAP, the area ratio of O L : O D is increased from 67.4 : 32.6 to 72.9 : 27.1, strongly indicating that the hydrogen phosphate anion combines with the oxygen vacancy of the TiO 2 lm to reduce the concentration of O D along with the simultaneous formation the lattice oxygen for an increased O L concentration, 20,44 which cross-veries the above analysis results and fully demonstrates that the modication of DAP effectively passivates the oxygen vacancy defects on the TiO 2 lm surface. The healing of TiO 2 oxygen vacancy defects can contribute to effective extraction of electrons to improve J SC .…”

“…Efficient non-radiative recombination may additionally lead to a significant deterioration of the solar cell's stability, which is an important factor for their industrialization. [43,44] The electroluminescence of the solar cells prepared at different ambient temperatures was measured and is reported in Figure 7. Radiative emission was observed between the red and near infrared range with a λ max at ca.…”
