Finally, although it was not specifically addressed in our study, the whole PACU process might be further facilitated, as Williams et al [15] has suggested, by having a PACU order sheet (again either paper or electronic) incorporate multiple checkbox standing orders. This would obviate the necessity of the PACU nurse seeking out a physician for routine PACU problems (such as pain and postoperative nausea and vomiting) and appropriate medications.…”
